Our National Parks are struggling after the recent Government Shutdown and cuts in funding.  Maintenance of the National Parks has become inherently difficult with the cut in budgets and influx in visitation. “Park visitation has increased by 25 percent over the past decade, while staffing has decreased by 23 percent” (therevelator.org), says Dana Soehn, a spokesperson for the Great Smokey Mountains National Parks. We have the power to preserve the land that was once protected and now threatened by climate change, government regulations and an increase in visitation to the parks. Let's take that step together through Park Preserver.
